Douglas F. Tougas, 76, formerly of Massena

MASSENA -- In Loving Memory of Douglas Tougas.

Well known as Doug, he passed away unexpectedly in his home, February 21, 2024, in Rochester, NY.

Formerly of Massena, where he was born on April 22, 1947, he went to the Massena schools and graduated from St. Lawrence Central School.

He then moved to Rochester, where he worked at General Motors for 38 years.

He married the love of his life, Margaret Ciadella and they were married for 54 years.

They started their family of two, Michael (Heather Toscano) Tougas and Michelle (Jeff) Edsall.

He was adored by his two grandsons, Lucas and Kaiden.

He is also survived by his sisters, Jannetta (Jan) Spambauer of Massena and Sharlyn Crump of North Lawrence, a sister-in-law, Anne Tougas of Rochester; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Doug was predeceased by his parents, Sherbin and Zita (Callette) Tougas; sister, Beverly Henderson of Brasher Falls, brothers Elwood, Bruce, and Wayne Tougas.

Doug was a likable person and will be missed sadly by his family and many friends.
