MASSENA -- The New York Power Authority (NYPA) will begin the installation of docks and buoys along the St. Lawrence River in the vicinity of its St. Lawrence-Franklin D. Roosevelt Power Project during the week of April 22.The process is expected to take approximately two weeks, but is dependent on weather and river conditions.

The dock installation will begin in Massena at Hawkins Point and will be completed at Howard Park in the Town of Waddington.

The docks and buoys will be installed in the following locations:

In the Town of Massena:

  • Hawkins Point
  • Massena intake docks
  • South Channel buoys
  • Massena Country Club docks

In the Town and Village of Waddington:

  • Whitaker Park docks
  • Old Milk Factory buoys
  • Howard Park docks

All the docks and buoys are scheduled to be removed in the fall, depending on weather and river conditions. The fall removal is planned to take place before heavy frost or ice forming on the surface of the docks which can create unsafe conditions for workers and the boating public. NYPA will notify the media and the public in advance of the work.
