St. Lawrence County is getting close to the opening day for the Canton Farmers Market on Friday, May 11, and the Potsdam Farmers Market opening day on Saturday, May 12.
The spring market season is a fantastic time to get acquainted with the experience of eating with the seasons, said a press release from GardenShare.
While there are not as many produce options available during the month of May, the market is an opportunity to stock up on maple syrup and farm fresh eggs, get transplants for your personal garden, or pick up some delicious baked goods, the organization said.
This year, GardenShare is announcing a $20/day cost-sharing match for SNAP/EBT recipients through its Bonus Bucks program until June 30. Starting July 1, the Double Up Food Bucks (DUFB) program will become available to offer the same $20/Day match for SNAP/EBT shoppers.
Visit the GardenShare booth at a local farmer’s market for more information.
