MORRISTOWN — A free, community contra dance sponsored by the Morristown Public Library will be held Tuesday, April 23, at 6:30 p.m. at St. John’s Catholic Church Our Lady of Grace Parish Center, 500 Morris St.
Beth Richardson of Potsdam will be calling, along with some of her students.
Music will be provided by Kathy Sommer, fiddler from Redwood; Harvey Nusbaum, guitarist from Syracuse; and Matt Bullwinkel, pianist from Potsdam.
Good for beginners with an emphasis on easy dances.
Experienced contra dancers and those wanting to just listen to the music are also welcome.
Simple instruction will be provided prior to the dances.
To register your intent to participate, or for questions, call the Morristown Public Library at 315-375-8833.
Parking is available on site next to the parish center.
No stairs are involved in accessing the parish center.
The dance is made possible with funds from the Statewide Community Regrants Program.
Additional contra dances in Morristown are planned for this fall.
