Sexism unnecessary

To the writer of D.A. Is Incompetent, (Jan. 5-11): I am not agreeing or disagreeing with your opinion. I it has nothing to do with Nicole Duve and her profession. It has to do with the words you used, “then she can focus on selling Avon or Pampered Chef.” I find this disgustingly sexist, and completely unnecessary. I am unaware of your gender; perhaps you are female; if so, you should have a little more respect for yourself and all other females. And if you are a male, then shame on you. Just because someone is a not a male does not mean they cannot uphold a position of authority. That statement was degrading, and maybe you should think before you speak or “type” and consider the women in your life: Would your mother be proud of such a sexist remark? I would think most likely, no.
