Tis the season to be Jolly and for gift giving. I truly respect other people’s beliefs and goals. I have been approached directly and asked by way of advertisements to give money and food for animal care and to their shelters. On the local news Channel 7, a group of people were transporting dogs and cats “North” across the US/Canadian border trying to find these aging animals a home rather than being euthanized. One in four families in St. Lawrence County are below poverty level. Almost every school district in this County participates in “Backpack Meals” sending home with needy children basic food items to get them thru the weekend with food before they return to school for a free breakfast and lunch program. What are your priorities in life? Feeding and caring for needy children or unwanted pets?
