I find it hard to believe that after kindergarten, grade school, high school and now college, you would think that at this point kids would know to look both ways before crossing the street wouldn’t you? We learned this with our crossing guards in grade school but have seemed to completely forgotten it now that they are in college. Instead, they are so focused on having the cell phone in one hand, staring at the thing in a zombie like trance to find out what someone had for lunch on Facebook or texting someone with just as much importance as the Facebook thing or just walking around with headphones on completely oblivious to what's going on around them and they just walk out in front of you with a defiant look on their face. Imagine the surprised look on their face when they do that to someone who is not expecting it to happen and they then remember something else they learned in grade school, “cars big, me small.” Stop, look left, then right, when it is clear, cross the street! It’s not rocket science, really if nothing else just Google it.
