Warm front moving across North Country, bringing mixed precipitation, up to three inches of snow

A warm front moving across the North Country today is bringing a brief period of mixed precipitation, with snow accumulation of up to three inches, according to the National Weather Service.

The mixed precipitation is expected to transition to all snow after 9 p.m. this evening, with snow to continue through 1 p.m. tomorrow, the service says.

Warmer temperatures are expected to continue through the week, with weather in the 30s during the day forecasted through Friday, according to the service.

A break from the snow is expected to come Wednesday, with snow to continue Thursday and Friday, says the service.

• Tonight: Rain and snow showers likely, becoming all snow after 9pm. Cloudy, with a low around 29. Southwest wind around 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.

• Tuesday: Snow showers likely, mainly before 1pm. Cloudy, with a high near 36. West wind 13 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.

• Tuesday Night: A 50 percent chance of snow showers before 1am. Cloudy, with a low around 17. West wind 6 to 11 mph. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.

• Wednesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 34. Southwest wind 6 to 10 mph.
