Three Ogdensburg residents jailed after police discover drugs and stolen coins in Morristown

MORRISTOWN -- Three Ogdensburg residents were charged Oct. 18 on State Highway 37 with criminal possession of stolen property, felony, according to state police.

Police said they stopped a 2004 Chevy Impala for a loud exhaust during a safety road check around 12:30 p.m.

Ogdensburg Police Department said it arrived to assist and a search of the vehicle yielded stolen property from an investigation. The subjects were found in possession of stolen coins, officers said.

During the search, more than four ounces of marijuana was found in vehicle, troopers said.

The vehicle was towed to and secured at the state police station in Ogdensburg for further search.

Derek J. Denny, a passenger in the vehicle, was found in possession of of methamphetamine

• Breonna A. Storie, 22, was charged with third-degree criminal possession of stolen property: more than $3,000 in value, making a false written statement and unlawful possession of marijuana. Storie gave false information during the investigation.

• Derek J. Denny, 35, was charged with third-degree criminal possession of stolen property: more than $3,000 in value, three counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, fourth-degree criminal possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of marijuana.

• Jacob R. Brabant, 32, was charged with third-degree criminal possession of stolen property: more than $3,000 in value and unlawful possession of marijuana.

All three were remanded to St. Lawrence County jail. Denny was jailed on $20,000 bail, Jacobs on no bail due to previous felony convictions and Stories on $2,500 bail.

State police were also assisted on scene by New York State Parole and Border Patrol.
