Weak high pressure today will provide the region with dry conditions and near normal temperatures around 28 with sunny skies, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

Temps will rise overnight to around 34 by 5 a.m. with a 60 percent chance of a half inch of snow, forecasters say.

NWS calls for an 80 percent chance of rain and snow showers before 4 p.m., then a chance of snow showers after that. A high temp of 40 degrees is expected with south winds of 14 to 16 miles per hour.

On Friday as low pressure tracks across the central Great Lakes a mixture of rain and snow showers will develop. Snow accumulations will generally range from a dusting to an inch in the valleys and 2 to 4 inches in the mountains.

A quiet weather weekend is anticipated with slightly below normal temperatures.
