CANTON -- A student art display will be open to the public until May 12 at the St. Lawrence-Lewis BOCES educational services center in Canton during regular business hours.
An opening reception was held on Thursday, May 5 with over 600 people in attendance. The show included awards in two categories: fifth and sixth grade and seventh and eighth grade, which were judged by Ola Aldous, a local painter. All students who had artwork on display received a medal. Each district submitted 16 pieces of artwork from Kindergarten through eighth grade, as well as one senior piece.

Fifth and sixth Grade
Best of show: Andrew Blauvet, Hermon Dekalb
1st Place: Megan Perry, Marissa McCabe, Natalie Hyde, Joselyn Pomales, Lisbon
2nd Place: Julianna Collins, Potsdam
3rd Place: Sophie Lauzon, Norwood-Norfolk
Seventh and eighth Grade
Best of show: Ryan Frost, Massena
1st Place: Jasmine Crump, St. Lawrence
2nd Place: Grace Mills, Heuvelton
3rd Place: Erin Stickney, Norwood-Norfolk
