CANTON -- St. Lawrence University maintained its consistent standing among national liberal arts colleges in the most recent edition of U.S. News and World Report’s “Best Colleges 2019” rankings. The report builds upon a long list of national recognitions for St. Lawrence from The Princeton Review, Fiske and Kiplinger, among others.
St. Lawrence moved up a couple of spots in this year’s U.S. News ranking to 56 from 58 in 2018. St. Lawrence also was listed by U.S. News as a “best value” national liberal arts college and earned recognition for having high proportion of international students.
In other recently released rankings, The Princeton Review included St. Lawrence in its guidebook “The Best 384 Colleges: 2019 Edition,” which was released Aug. 7. The popular college guide ranked St. Lawrence for Best Career Services (#14), Best-Run Colleges (#18) and Most Active Student Government (#15). In addition to Best Colleges, The Princeton Review has also included St. Lawrence in several of its additional publications, including being one of the 50 schools featured in the publication Colleges That Create Futures, Best Northeastern, and Colleges That Pay You Back, in which St. Lawrence earned the No. 3 spot for Best Alumni Network in the nation.
St. Lawrence also earned a spot back on Sierra Club’s “Cool School” rankings, after the university earned national recognition for its achievements in several areas of sustainability from the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education based on its score in the Sustainability Tracking, Assessment and Rating System, or STARS.
Meanwhile, the online college ranking site College Consensus named St. Lawrence University one of the Best Colleges in New York for 2018, Money named St. Lawrence a “Best Small College,” and Fiske’s annual list of colleges and universities that offer the best academic experience for an affordable price included St. Lawrence University in its 2019 publication.
