PARISHVILLE – A Parishville man has been charged with drunk driving for allegedly almost driving his Jeep into the river at the Blake campsites on the McNeil Campground Road.
St. Lawrence County sheriff’s deputies responded at 3:29 a.m.Sunday to a report the Jeep was partially in the water.
Deputies said they discovered David C. Cole, 38, of 17 MacCarter Dr., drove the Jeep between two occupied tents, struck a fire pit and a cooler and stopped just prior to entering the water.
He fled on food but was found hiding in the water, deputies said.
Cole was arrested for driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of a property damage accident and is to face the charges in Parishville Town Court at a later date.
