POTSDAM -- St. Lawrence County Sheriff's deputies say they arrested an Ogdensburg woman for causing a minor car accident while under influence and leaving the scene.
Patti L. Simmons, 36, is charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, leaving the scene of a property damage accident and failure to keep right, deputies said.
Simmons was driving a 2003 Nissan Altima on U.S. Route 11 between Canton and Potsdam when she drifted into the oncoming lane and clipped another vehicle's rearview mirror, damaging both vehicles, deputies said.
She didn't stop and was arrested in Potsdam, where deputies say they determined she was under the influence of prescription medication.
Simmons was arraigned in Pierrepont Town Court and released under supervision of the Probation Department, pending a future appearance in Potsdam Town Court, deputies said.
