CANTON -- Creating Healthy Places recently awarded funding to Ogdensburg and Parishville Recreation Departments for the purchase of rental ice skates. Over the past two years, the Health Initiative’s Creating Healthy Places St. Lawrence County Project, a grant funded by the New York State Department of Health, has awarded rental ice skates to eleven ice rinks and arenas across the county.
Those locations are: Potsdam’s Pine Street Arena, Canton’s Pavilion, Norfolk’s Dominic Zappia Community Center, Brasher’s Tri-Town Arena, Waddington’s Donald Martin Civic Center, and Ogdensburg’s Lockwood Arena; and seasonal outdoor ice rinks in South Colton, Heuvelton, Madrid, Gouverneur, and Parishville.
