MASSENA -- A village resident is jailed after allegedly violating orders of protection against the same person twice in 24 hours.

Richard A. Fields Jr., 32, of Spruce Street is charged with two felony counts of first-degree criminal contempt and single counts of second-degree harassment and disorderly conduct, both violations.

According to documents filed with Massena Village Court, Fields violated a no-harassment order of protection against Lindsey Beamis, with whom he lives. The documents state he yelled profanity at her and approached her “in an aggressive manner” during a fight the two had around 9:32 a.m. Friday.

He was charged with contempt, which was elevated to a felony because of a November 2014 conviction for second-degree criminal contempt, the documents state. He was arraigned by Massena Justice Gerald Sharlow and released after posting $1,000 bail. Sharlow enacted an order of protection barring Fields from having any contact with Beamis, according to court documents.

Around 9:50 a.m. the following day, Fields was seen at their shared residence, violating Sharlow’s order from the previous day, court documents allege.

On that count, he was arraigned in front of Sharlow and remanded to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility, Canton, in lieu of $5,000 bail or $10,000 bond, police said.
