POTSDAM – A former Potsdam resident has successfully climbed Mount Everest and is safe, back at base camp.
Susan Jackson reports that her son, Seth Wolpin, now of Washington State, summited the world’s highest peak, has made it back to base camp, and will return to his job in public health in Seattle next month.
Seth’s father, Miles Wolpin, lives in Parishville, and his sister, Robin Wolpin, lives in Massena.
“He was great at sending us daily updates and observations,” Jackson writes, but she said she had some trouble receiving his messages “at out little base camp in Parishville.”
Wolpin made it to the summit Thursday, May 12, and was back at base camp Saturday, May 14.
Seth’s website, www.sethwolpin.com, has photos and a blog.
