DEKALB – Drunk driving was allegedly to blame for a one-vehicle accident that resulted in injuries to a passenger at 4:25 a.m. Friday on the Old Canton Road, according to St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputies.
According to deputies, Erik J. Martin, 30, of 29 Gibbons St., DeKalb Junction, was operating a 2005 Ford Escape and lost control. The vehicle went off the road and overturned.
Martin was evaluated on the scene by Hermon Rescue and refused medical treatment.
His passenger, Aaron Martin, 26, of 29 Gibbons St., DeKalb Junction, was transported by Canton Rescue to Canton-Potsdam Hospital with a possible concussion.
Eric J. Martin was arrested by deputies for driving while intoxicated and failure to keep right.
He was issued tickets to appear in court at a later date.
