CANTON – Canton’s village and town historian positions, both held now for several years by Linda Casserly, will be combined into one shared services job under the auspices of the town.
Both town and village boards have agreed to the move.
The position traditionally funded by separate line items under village and town budgets, will now be funded through the town budget.
The town will handle the payroll and other employee aspects of the job and bill Canton village for the shared service.
The change will take effect in January.
