POTSDAM -- Canton-Potsdam Hospital’s “Ask the Physician” series continued Sept. 9 with Dr. Mariam Asar, Psychiatrist, speaking on “Signs of Suicide Tendencies” in Conference Rooms A&B, 50 Leroy Street.
September is National Suicide Awareness Month.
This event was held in conjunction with the St. Lawrence County Suicide Awareness Coalition. Resources are available for those in mental distress, including Reachout of St. Lawrence County, Inc. at 265-2422, a 24-hour crisis hotline that provides crisis services and supportive listening, as well as links to community services.
The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline can be reached at 1-800-273-8255, and is also available 24 hours a day.
