CANTON -- A Canton man who claims he is a psychic and can read palms is offering his services to individuals and parties.

Ghulam Sabir offers simple and full palm readings, as well as tarot card readings.

Sabir says that love brought him to the North Country in 2003. He has worked for the Department of Social Services for over a decade as a driver and recently started a taxi business in Canton called North Star Taxi.

In his spare time, he works with a group of fortune tellers at shows, including one in Massena earlier this spring.

“When I was in school a teacher looked at my hand and said I have a special sign on my hand and I can have fortune teller knowledge,” Sabir said. “You will learn and discover more … so then I asked him to teach me.”

After learning from his teacher, Sabir says he spent a lot of time reading books about palm reading and travelled around the world to many counties to meet other palm readers.

“I want to help people … it makes me feel good to help people,” Sabir said.

Early on Sabir was reading his family and friends’ hands.

‘I said things to them and some of them saw results quickly and then I was interested to learn more,” he said.

Sabir says he does not predict death.

“I am not out to scare people,” he said. “If I see something bad, I tell people in a good way so they don’t get scared…but to be careful.”
