PITCAIRN -- Volunteers from the North Country Chapter of the American Red Cross provided immediate emergency aid to one person after a fire Friday night, Dec. 23, on County Route 23 Extension in East Pitcairn.
The Red Cross provided financial assistance for necessities such as shelter, food and clothing to one adult. Volunteers also offered emotional support and a comfort kit containing personal care items, as well as referral services.
In the coming days, Red Cross staff and volunteers will remain available to help the individual affected by the fire as they navigate the road to recovery.
