Saints tie for 9th at 24-team Duke Nelson Invitational

St. Lawrence University's men's golf team shot identical best-of-four rounds of 311 on the 6379 yard par 71 Ralph Myhre Golf Club at Middlebury to finish ninth in a 24-team field.

Skidmore College won the tournament with a 588 total with Williams second at 607 and RPI third at 608. The Saints' 622 total was one behind Trinity College and four off the pace of Manahattanville and Salem State, which tied for sixth at 618.

Walker Steers had the top finish for the Saints, tying for 26th with rounds of 73 and 81 for a 154 total. His 73 was a collegiate low. Jeff Duggan was one stroke back in a tie for 33rd, shooting 82 on Saturday, but coming back with a 73 on Sunday while John Harris matched rounds of 78 for a 156 total and was tied for 39th. Jack Reardon shot 78-82-160 and was tied for 63rd while Ren O'Connor shot 82-79-161 and was tied for 66th.

The Saints will compete in the Liberty League Championship hosted by Clarkson at the Potsdam Country Club Saturday and Sunday.
