RIT's Kiana Richards scored in the 89th minute to tie the game and force overtime as the St. Lawrence women's soccer team and the visiting Tigers played to a 1-1 draw Saturday afternoon on MacAllaster field.

RIT is no stranger to overtime games, playing in its fifth of the season this afternoon, while this was the first game that required extra time for St. Lawrence.

Junior Emily DePoy was the lone goal scorer of the day for the Saints, as she got her team on the board in the 52nd minute with a beautiful strike from 25 yards out that snuck just under the crossbar. After the teams battled for possession in the box, sophomore midfield Lindsay Geier was able to head the ball out of traffic and into space for DePoy who stepped up and blasted the ball past goalkeeper Amanda Murray for her fifth goal of the year.

"The team was very impressive today both in the attack and defensively," Head Coach Franco Bari said. "We played with a really good tempo and created a lot of quality opportunities that just didn't fall. RIT was a great team, moved the ball well and out overall composure defensively was good."

The Tigers came close to pulling even in the 71st minute, but Caitlyn Daly's shot hit the post and the ensuing shot by Quincey Ornellas went wide to keep the Saints in front 1-0. But they were finally able to break through and beat St. Lawrence's Kelsey West on Richards' shot under the crossbar from inside the box.

The Saints had an opportunity to win it in the second overtime with a three-on-one breakout, but the shot by junior Samantha Rock trickled just wide of the right post.

With the tie, St. Lawrence is now 8-4-1 overall and 1-2-1 in conference games, while RIT is 5-2-5 and 1-1-2 against Liberty League opponents this season.
