(Gulf Shores, Ala.)- SUNY Canton ended their run in the NAIA Softball National Tournament with an 11-4 loss to Friends University (Kan.) Saturday afternoon at the Gulf Shores Sportsplex in Gulf Shores, Ala.

The two-time Sunrise Conference champions end their terrific season at 20-16 overall.

The Roos pushed across their four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning trimming the Falcons lead to three runs.  Lyndsay Coppola (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) led off the inning with a walk and moved to second on a single from Carolina Olivares (Adelanto, Calif.).  Coppola came around to score and Olivares advanced to second base when Heather Lottie (Canton, N.Y.) reached on an infielders error.  Danielle Callahan (Kingston, N.Y.) promptly laced a single down the left-field line and Olivares scored when she and Lottie pulled off a double steal.  Tina DeLuca (Fresh Meadows, N.Y.) then ripped a double to left field that scored Lottie and Callahan for the Roos final two runs.

Vickie Lynch (Howard Beach, N.Y.) had three singles for SUNY Canton and DeLuca also struck out three batters and allowed 16 hits and one walk in seven innings.

Cheyenne Stewart and Kristina Manser each homered for Friends and Kelsey Porter fanned seven batters and surrendered seven hits and two walks in seven innings.
