(Pittsburgh, Pa.)- SUNY Canton dropped both games of a doubleheader to Point Park University on Friday in Pittsburgh as the Roos lost 4-2 and 20-0 to the Pioneers.
In the first game, the Roos manufactured both runs in the seventh inning. Michael Zelyez (Brasher Fall, N.Y.) led off the inning with a single and then came around to score when Tom Darling (Oswego, N.Y.) smacked a double. Darling then crossed the plate when Danny Perez (Brooklyn, N.Y.) laced an RBI-single to close the gap to two runs.
Josh Soffer (Ottawa, Ontario) struck out five batters for the Roos and allowed nine hits and four walks in six innings on the mound.
In the second game Perez, Jared Wallace (New Russia, N.Y.,), Larry Jankowski (Oneonta, N.Y.), and Jeff Lake (Battersea, Ontario) each singled for the Roos.
Frank Marko went 2-for-3 with a double and two runs to lead Point Park in the opener and Chris Smith banged out two hits and scored twice in the nightcap.
