Rochester, NY – Dylan Rosen scored his first goal of the season and Joe Deveny added his team-leading 11th goal of the season but a late power play goal lifted host Nazareth College to a 3-2 win over the SUNY Canton men's hockey team on Tuesday.

Nazareth (8-5-2), who is unbeaten in its last seven games, held a slim 13-11 shots advantage in the opening period, but both goaltenders could not be beaten over the opening 20 minutes.

The Roos (3-10-2), outshot the Golden Flyers 12-9 in the middle period and that paid off at 18:05 when Deveny lit the lamp on the power play off passes from Tyler Bullard and Ben Beasley. Canton took a 1-0 lead into second intermission.

Nazareth found the equalizer just 1:04 into the third period on Ray Falso's sixth of the season. The Roos regained the lead on Dylan Rosen's first goal of the season and third of his career five minutes later. Reily McIntosh and Beasley earned helpers on the play.

David Powlowski slotted a pair of goals, his sixth and seventh of the season over the final 12 minutes to earn Nazareth the victory. Powloski's game-winner came with 48 second remaining with 31 seconds remaining on a Flyer power play.

Canton pulled the goalie late on the power play after clearing the puck from their defensive zone and had an offensive zone faceoff with less than five seconds remaining on a 6-on-4 but ran out of time as Nazareth held on for the victory.

Austin Washkurak was outstanding between the pipes for the Roos stopping 40 of the 42 shots he faced, while Michael Tilford made 33 saves for Nazareth.

The Roos were 1-for-6 on the power play, while the Flyers were 1-for-7 with the skater advantage.
