(Geneseo, N.Y.)- The SUNY Canton men’s cross country team finished in 10th place out of 13 teams at the highly competitive Geneseo Invitational at Letchworth State Park on Saturday.
Geneseo captured the overall men’s title garnering 23 points. Brockport State came in second followed by Hamilton College, the University of Rochester, Daemen College, Houghton College, LeMoyne College, Mansfield College, Morrisville State College, SUNY Canton, Hobart College, Keuka College, and Medaille College.
For the fifth straight meet, junior Justin Richardson (Pavilion, N.Y.) was the top finisher for the Roos as he came in 44th place in a time of 28:04 in the 8K race.
Sophomore Jon Flint (Queensbury, N.Y.) followed in 92nd place in a time of 29:44. Freshman Addisu Woldehawariat (Bronx, N.Y.) was 97th in an even 30 minutes. Freshman Thomas Lauzon (Bombay, N.Y.) finished in 110th place (30:43) and sophomore Scott Jeffers (Livonia, N.Y.) completed the Roos scoring with a 113th-place finish (31:06).
The Roos return to Canton next Saturday when they’ll run in the Hoffman Invitational at St. Lawrence University.
