POTSDAM – Cinema 10 continues its fall 2010 season on Monday, Nov. 8 with a showing of “Metropolis,” a digitally restored re-released version of the classic silent film.
This is the celebrated Fritz Lang masterpiece of science fiction and German expressionism that has been nearly perfectly restored with almost a hundred pieces of recovered footage.
“To see the film as the director intended,” writes Kenneth Turan of the Los Angeles Times, “on the big screen with an original score recorded by a 60-piece orchestra, greatly enhances the reputation of a film already considered one of the icons of the silent era.”
Films are shown on Mondays at 7:15 p.m. in the Roxy Theater in Potsdam.
Tickets are $4.50 general/$35 season or $3.50 student/senior/$25 season.
