Hopkinton Food Pantry needs local support

To the Editor:

Hopkinton Food Pantry wishes to thank everyone who has supported us since our inception in 2006.

Mary Converse and Georgia Macy, along with all the other volunteers, have enjoyed helping those in need.

As winter approaches, we will need your assistance more than ever. If any organization. business or individual is looking to aid their community, a food or monetary drive for our pantry would be greatly appreciated. We have had some bad luck; Com-links has closed its doors and can no longer help supplement local pantries with food.

Hopkinton Pantry relies entirely upon donations, as we are not part of the Central Food Bank and not eligible for grants. From 2006 to 2012, we have been successful because of community support. Food drives, clothing, book and monetary donations, all keep us going.

We hope to continue, but our budget is dangerously low.

If you can help, please call Georgia 328-4168, 739 Converse Road, Fort Jackson or Mary at 328-4681 2893 St. Hwy 11B Hopkinton.
