LATHAM -- A Hermon resident has been promoted by the New York National Guazrd.
Major General Patrick A. Murphy announced the promotion of James Walrath, serving with the Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 102nd Military Police Battalion, ito the rank of Sergeant First Class.
The promotion was in recognition of his capability for additional responsibility and leadership. Army National Guard promotions are based on overall performance, attitude, leadership ability, and development potential.
The promotion also recognizes the best qualified soldiers to attract and retain the highest caliber citizen soldiers for a career in the New York Army National Guard.
