POTSDAM -- Former Potsdam resident Air Force Airman Dillon D. Smith graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas recently.
The airman completed an eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness and basic warfare principles and skills.
Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate’s degree in applied science through the Community College of the Air Force.
Smith is the son of Susan and David Smith of Potsdam.
He is a 2012 graduate of Potsdam High School.
