COLTON -- Jake Crosley recently completed his senior project. Crosley is a senior at Colton-Pierrepont Central School and a student in the Seaway Career and Technical Education Center environmental technology program.
Crosley spent thirty hours creating the bench for his project using red cedar lumber from Seaway Tech property. He cut the logs to the correct lengths and made tenon cuts and holes to fit it together.
Crosley’s neighbor also donated red cedar lumber for the bench.
Crosley and his father cut the metal insert piece for the backboard.
Crosley plans to give the bench to his neighbor and continue to create benches to sell.
He plans to attend SUNY Canton’s Civil Engineering Technology program in the fall.
