Organizers of the Sept. 13 "Wounded Warriors Home-Town Heroes Muskie Challenge" are looking for volunteers to take a young soldier fishing for the event.
A volunteer does not need to be a professional fisherman. All that's needs are poles, tackle, a canoe or small boat, a life vest and a spot to fish on either the St. Regis or Deer rivers, according to event organizers.
Muskie challenge officials hope to have 50 soldiers from Fort Drum on the water from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. for a day of catch-and-release angling.
Free breakfast, bag lunch and dinner will be provided.
The event is sponsored by American Legion Post 514, FISHCAP and the Tri-Town community.
