CANTON -- St. Lawrence University will host a Johann Sebastian Bach Marathon Saturday, March 23, from 2 to 7 p.m. in Gunnison Memorial Chapel. Audience members are welcome to come and go as they wish throughout the performances. The schedule for the marathon will be:
• 2 p.m. – welcome, Reverend Kathleen Buckley, university chaplain
• 2:10 p.m. – Rebecca Muir MacKellar, organ
• 2:40 p.m. – Haley Freickert, soprano, and Julia Sprague, mezzo-soprano, Sondra Goldsmith Proctor, piano
• 3 p.m. – Kathy MacKay, violin; Reflection – the importance of the arts in all our lives, Andrea Montgomery, director of community programs for St. Lawrence NYSARC
• 3:30 p.m. – Laurentian Singers; Barry Torres, director; Barbara Phillips-Farley, continuo; members of the St. Lawrence University String Orchestra
• 4 p.m. – Laurel Kuxhaus, oboe; Genelle Bayer, violin; Kathy MacKay, Ellen Weil, Brian Vo, Christine Xydias, David Katz, Carol Strome
• 4:30 p.m. – Ad Hoc Singers, Julia Pomainville, Alexandra Jacobs Wilke, Sondra Goldsmith Proctor on organ
• 5 p.m. – Jill Rubio, flute; members of the St. Lawrence University String Orchestra and Northern Lights Orchestra
• 5:30 p.m. – members of the St. Lawrence University String Orchestra, Chris Hosmer, conductor
• 6 p.m. – Handbell Choir from Canton Unitarian Universalist Church; Nelly M. Case, director and organ; Chris Hosmer, cello; director Jill Rubio, flute
• 6:30 p.m. – Sondra Goldsmith Proctor, organ
