POTSDAM – The Potsdam Community Band is beginning its preparations for the coming autumn/winter season with two music-reading sessions held Mondays, Sept. 26 and Oct. 10, at 7 p.m. at Potsdam High School. New and returning members are encouraged to attend to read music and connect with their band-mates. The reading sessions will be lead by Potsdam High School band director Theresa Witmer, and some of the music read will be possibilities for a January concert. Membership in the band is open to all adults who play traditional wind band instruments: woodwinds, brasswinds, and percussion. The rehearsals for the January concert will be Monday, Nov. 14, 28, and Dec. 12 at Potsdam High School, 7 p.m. A final pre-concert rehearsal will take place on Thursday, Jan. 5.
