OGDENSBURG -- The Frederic Remington Art Museum will be joining hundreds of museums worldwide in hosting Slow Art Day Saturday, April 14.
Admission to the museum will be free. Docents will be on hand throughout the day. An “art cart” will be available with sketching materials for those who want to experience Remington’s work through drawing.
For those looking for guided instruction in sketching, the Museum will offer a sketching class from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Newell Galleries. Materials will be provided, though artists can bring their own sketchbooks and pencils. The class cost is $15 for members and $25 for non-members.
At 2 p.m. the museum will offer a special preview of its new One Hour One Work program, in which participants spend one hour viewing and reflecting with others on a single work of art.
The program is free, but reservations are required.
