Friends of the Robert Moses Nature Center offering full slate of events for Independence Day weekend

MASSENA -- The Friends of the Robert Moses Nature Center are hosting events the weekend of July 4.

There will be a firework art workshop for kids from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Robert Moses Long Sault Campground pavilion.

There will be a "Ty-Dye" class with Ty Danboise from Windance from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Coles Creek Campground beach building. Cost is $8 for kids bringing their own 100 percent cotton shirt or $10 without. Adults are $10 with own shirt or $12 without. All ages are welcome.

Saturday will be a "Teddy Bear Picnic" from noon to 2 p.m. at the Nature Center. Bring a favorite teddy bear. Hot dogs, chops and s'mores will be served. Cost is $5 per family.

A straw paining workshop will be from 3 to 4 p.m. at the Robert Moses Long Sault Campground pavilion.

The Ty-Dye workshop will go from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Robert Moses Long Sault Campground pavilion. Same cost as the Friday session.

Campfire cooking will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Robert Moses Long Sault Campground pavilion. Attendees can make baked apples over a fire pit and should bring their own chairs. There is a $1 suggested donation.
