CANTON -- The Rev. Jamie Washington, Ph. D., president and a founder of the Social Justice Training Institute, will visit SUNY Canton to discuss the challenges and opportunities for higher education related to diversity and inclusion at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 13 in the Richard W. Miller Campus Center's Kingston Theater.
The event is free and open to the public.
"Dr. Washington is a dynamic speaker and renowned expert in his field. He has worked with more than 300 clients during his 30-year career, and we are pleased to welcome him to SUNY Canton," said Co-Chief Diversity Officer Lashawanda Ingram.
Washington is also the president of the Washington Consulting Group, a multicultural organizational development firm based in Baltimore founded in 1992.
The firm provides workshops, coaching, consulting and keynote talks on a variety of topics including organizational and culture change management, effective leadership and team building, diversity and inclusion development, conflict resolution, diversity strategic planning, and more.
Washington is a visiting assistant professor of religion and social ethics at Winston Salem State University.
