POTSDAM -- The faculty of SUNY Potsdam's Crane School of Music will welcome the start of the semester and open the School's 125th anniversary year in an upcoming gala concert.

The talents of Crane's accomplished professors will be on full display in the performance, which will take place at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6 in Hosmer Concert Hall.

This year's program, in keeping with past Crane galas, includes performances by professors of a variety of studios. Included are: John Ellis, James Madeja, Kelly Drifmeyer, Mark Hartman, Anna Hendrickson, Julianne Kirk-Doyle, Carol Lowe, Douglas Rubio, Jessica Suchy-Pilalis, Raphael Sanders, Julie Miller, Jill Pearon, Lonel Woods, Kirk Severtson, Christopher Creviston, Charles Guy, Hannah Gruber, François Germain, John Lindsey, Shelly Tramposh, Brian Carter, Eugenia Tsarov, David Pittman-Jennings, Michael Sitton, Kathleen Miller, Kenneth Andrews, Roy Schaberg, Mark Hartman and Brian K. Doyle.

Among the many great musical offerings, there will be a world premiere of a Paul Siskind composition entitled "Trio a3." Composed in 2011, the piece will be performed by Christopher Creviston on alto saxophone, Charles Guy on tuba and Hannah Gruber on piano.

The program will conclude with a performance of Faculty Emeritus Robert Washburn's 1966 composition, "Concertino for Wind and Brass Quintets." There will also be a special welcome by Crane School of Music Dean Dr. Michael Sitton.

This event is free, and the public is invited to attend.
