POTSDAM -- Clarkson University students are hosting the Second Annual LapSit April 16, to raise money for Canton-Potsdam Hospital’s new Center for Cancer Care and to see if they can break the United States lapsit record.

For a $1 donation, people can participate in the LapSit.

For $10, participants also get a commemorative t-shirt.

The festivities will take place from 10 a.m. to noon outside Clarkson's new Student Center. At 10 a.m. the carnival will begin, along with bone marrow registry and guest speakers from the hospital. The LapSit formation will begin at 11:30 a.m. with “the big sit” at noon.

There will also be a raffle for a $680 gift certificate to the Mirror Lake Inn in Lake Placid.
