MORLEY -- The public is invited to attend a carol sing at the Trinity Chapel on Dec. 23 at 4 p.m., followed by refreshments and an opportunity to view this historic building.
Trinity Chapel was consecrated in 1871. It was built in the mid 1800s through the auspices of the Harison family, early landowners of the area, on land donated by the family. The chapel was placed on the National Register of historic places in 1989.
“The chapel was an important factor in the early years of the Morley area, but has been open only for special occasions since the 1950s,” church officials wrote in an email. “Earlier this year, the chapel was closed to the public due to the deterioration of the bell tower. With the recent removal of the damaged steeple, the building is once again deemed safe for occupancy.”
