CANTON -- The Local Living Venture invites all levels of beekeeper to attend the Bees & Bee Keeping Discussion Group that usually meets on the last Wednesday of every month.
The next meeting is set for 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 27, at the Betty Evans Community Room, in the new addition to the E.J. Noble Medical Bldg., 80 E. Main Street, Canton, NY (next door to the Best Western.)
The gathering is a casual group setting where all are welcome to share valuable information about local beekeeping with each other. Participants are encouraged to ask questions and share successes and challenges in a friendly atmosphere.
Beginner beekeepers are invited to come and learn, though reading up some beforehand is a good idea in order to have questions in mind. Local libraries have many good resources, or purchase the book most recommended by members of the group, "Beekeeping for Dummies."
Many resources are also available at the web page www.LocalLivingVenture.org/content/bees-beekeeping-resources.
The Discussion Group is on a pass-the-hat, free-will donation basis to support Local Living Venture programming. Write to LocalLivingVenture@gmail.com or call 347-4223 for more information.
