'Bach Marathon' in Canton Saturday to feature more than a dozen performers

CANTON -- The St. Lawrence University’s Office of the Chaplin presents the seventh Johann Sebastian Bach Marathon from 1:30 until 6 p.m. Saturday, April 2, in Gunnison Memorial Chapel.

Admission is free.

This year, several St. Lawrence students will perform as soloists during the concert. St. Lawrence Associate Professor of Philosophy Laura Rediehs will also perform a selection along with a quartet of stringed instruments.

In addition, the concert will feature St. Lawrence University’s Organist and Musician-In-Residence Sondra Goldsmith Proctor as well as the Ad Hoc Singers and Laurentian Singers.

Also performing, Laurel Kuxhaus, assistant professor of mechanical and aeronautical engineering at Clarkson University, will play double-reed instruments and will be accompanied by Michael Rasminsky, professor emeritus of neurology from McGill University; Rebecca Muir MacKellar from Potsdam’s Trinity Episcopal Church; and Lonel Woods, associate professor of voice at SUNY Potsdam’s Crane School of Music.
