POTSDAM -- Susan E. Godreau has been appointed as the new director of SUNY Potsdam's Office of Financial Aid.
"I am so proud to help connect students and families with the information and financial resources they need to pursue their SUNY Potsdam education. Our office is committed to helping students plan to invest in their futures," she said.
She most recently worked as interim director of the department, having been the assistant director since 2010. Before that, she was the scholarship coordinator and worked as the program assistant for the women's and gender studies program, SUNY Potsdam said.
As director, Godreau brings 10 years of experience, having managed the college's portfolio of more than $2 million for student scholarships and oversight over customer service, data collection and appeals. She is a member of the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators, the New York State Financial Aid Administrators Association and the State University of New York Financial Aid Professionals organization, the school said.
In addition, Godreau has also served on the SUNY Potsdam Faculty Senate, the Student Fellowship Program Advisory Board, the Scholarship Golf Tournament Committee, the CSTEP Advisory Board, the Veterans Task Force, the Higher One Refund Committee and the Leveraging Committee. She was also the co-principal investigator for a National Science Foundation computer science leadership practice scholarship grant, according to the school.
She earned her bachelor's degree in psychology from Tufts University, before going on to complete her master of business administration degree at Babson College.
