POTSDAM -- The much-anticipated Taco Bell at the corner of Market and Sisson streets officially opened s at 7 a.m. on Wednesday.
The Potsdam Chamber hosted a ribbon cutting at 10 a.m.
Lines were backed up out the door and and cars were backed up on Market Street as they waited for the drive-thru. Because of the volume of customers, waits for food were as long as 30 minutes, but that did not seem to stop customers.
An employee at the restaurant said an early release from Potsdam High School added to the large number of customers.
Steve Pinkerton, owner/vice president of Hospitality Syracuse, Inc. was joined by employees, chamber board members and customers for the event.
It is at 153 Market St. and will be open Sunday to Thursday from 7 a.m. to 1 a.m. and Friday and Saturday from 7 a.m. to 3 a.m.
