CANTON -- McDonalds, 64 Main St., is one of over 100 “underperforming franchises” that will close at the end of the year.
“Our global CEO Steve Easterbrook shared earlier this year that McDonald’s made the decision to close approximately 700 underperforming restaurants globally, with nearly 110 in the U.S,” McDonald’s Marketing Manager Toka Akiyama said in an email.
“We are grateful to have served the Canton community for the past 37 years.”
“This restaurant closing is part of that initiative,” Akiyama said. We will continue to review our restaurant portfolio, and make the best decisions for our business moving forward.”
The release said that McDonalds is trying to offer employees the opportunity for employment at other nearby McDonald’s restaurants.
