To the Editor:
I am shocked at the rhetoric/dialogue and “hate words” that were printed in the North Country NOW paper dated July 28-August 1, 2024 that were direct quotes from a Potsdam Board Member. I would like to know why Christine Paige is still a Potsdam Board Member and why does she live in Potsdam, New York or for that matter why does she live in America.
Christine's comments are not reflective nor should be categorized as Free Speech but rather blatant aggression and “Hate” to the American Values. We do not wish that “in-grits” go around shooting people just because they are not liked for their values, color of skin, ethnicity, or political agenda. But this is just what Christine is advocating.
My daddy landed as part of the D-Day movement to help free Europe from Hitler's control and to sustain America as a free nation. The attitude and comments issued by Christine deserve to be “censured” at a minimum but fully be removed as a Potsdam Board Member.
Her comments, I feel, do not represent “Free Speech” but are pure “Hate” comments and are so Un-American, Un-Democratic, there is no place for 'Hate Comments” in our language or in our town. She should be fired as a Potsdam Town Board Member. Christine is only adding fuel to the 'crazies' out there, that only need an excuse to take up AK-15's against politicians. Doesn't she make you all feel safe.
America has a democratic system, Christine should be made aware of its process.
Christine is shameful to be an American and she needs to be held accountable for her comments; made under the auspices of Free Speech, really now.
