FINE — A Wanakena woman was charged with driving while intoxicated after crashing her vehicle on CR 61 Saturday night, according to state police.
Chrystal King, 65, was charged with first-offense DWI following a suspicious vehicle complaint, police said.
Troopers arrived on the scene and reportedly observed a black 2023 Jeep stuck in the mud off the roadway on the east shoulder, with no one in the vehicle.
Troopers searched the area and located a female walking with two other individuals helping her. The female was identified as King, also the registered owner of the abandoned vehicle.
Troopers interviewed King regarding her vehicle off the roadway. She had allegedly fallen asleep, causing her to go off the roadway.
She had cuts and bleeding but, did not need medication attention, officers said.
While interviewing King, she was allegedly showing signs of impairment. Troopers administered standard field sobriety tests, which she failed.
King was arrested and transported to SP Star Lake, where she provided a breath sample of .16% blood-alcohol content (BAC).
She was released on an appearance ticket returnable to Town of Fine Court for a later date in November.
