Virginia "Ginny" L. Miller, 86, Ogdensburg

ODGENSBURG - Virginia “Ginny” L. Miller, age 86 of Ogdensburg, NY, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, April 30, 2025. Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2025 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM at Fox Murray Funeral Home.

Burial will be at the Pinehill Cemetery on the Eel Weir Road at a later date.

Ginny is survived by a sister, Patricia Felt of Buffalo, NY, daughters Kelly (Slip) Amo and Janine Reed, both of Ogdensburg, NY, a son, William (Terri) Reed of Colton, NY, 8 grandchildren: Erin (James) Bechtel, Tyler Richards, Dylan Reed, Seth (Sofia) Richards, Madelyn Reed, Jenna Amo, Benjamin Reed and Natalie (Paige) Giglio, and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by two sisters; Ruth Wright and Sharon Meldrum, two brothers; Howard and James Ray and a grandson, Joshua Amo.

Born March 26, 1939 to the late Edward and Luella (Holmes) Ray, she attended grade school in Edwards, NY and later graduated from Gouverneur Central School in 1957. Upon graduation she attended Central City Business Institute in Syracuse, NY. She later moved to Ogdensburg, NY to start her family.

Ginny was employed by Claxton Hepburn Medical Center as a Patient Representative for over 40 years. She was known for her great sense of humor and quick wit. Her greatest blessings in her life were her 3 children. Her favorite times were spent cooking and baking for her family and spending time with her many close friends. She found so much joy in the love she received from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and she loved her children’s friends as if they were her own.

Ginny had a very special gift of being able to make anyone around her feel like family.
She will be greatly missed. In her memory, contributions can be made to the Ogdensburg Boys and Girls Club or St. Lawrence Valley Hospice.
